Underperforming Private Pension Case Study
William came looking for advice in 2010 regarding his pension fund. He has £101,000 in his Pension fund with a major insurer. He was concerned that the fund had seemed to stop growing and wondered why this was the case. He was 60 at the time and was keen to know how he could boost his pension before his retirement at 65. It transpired the With Profits fund he was in had not provided a bonus since 2000 and William was shocked to see his money was standing still.
Charles transferred the fund over to a new provider offering a managed regularly re balanced portfolio in line with William’s attitude to risk which was balanced. The fund was the AXA Elite balanced managed.
William retired in April 2015 and was delighted that the fund had grown to £148,000 and his retirement is now a brighter picture than it would have been.
